Jammiched, Gadwal

                          Sri Jammulamma Devatha Devasthanam

One day a farmer was busy in his field. To plough the field smoothly he searched for a big stone. He found a big stone near by and kept the stone on the plough. After arranging that stone on the plough, the plough was going smoothly without any hindrances till evening he ploughed the field and left the plough intact with the same stone on the plough and left for home. The next day morning, when he came back to field and found that the stone is not on the plough. He searched for the stone and he found the stone in the same place where it was. Again he brought the same stone and tied it to the plough and ploughed the field till evening and left for home with his oxes after leaving the plough in the field with the same stone intact. Next day morning when he came back to the field again he could not find the stone bon the plough.
Again he searched for the stone; surprisingly he found the stone in the same place where it was. He thought that some body might have removed the stone from the plough. He wanted to see who was doing this mischief and he completed his ploughing work on that day and left the plough in the field and he did not went to home, instead he waited near the observing for a person who was doing this. He did not sleep in the night. Exactly in the midnight at 12'o clock the stone which was tied for the plough was changed into a Goddess with pure white dress and after a few minutes again the angel changed into the stone and stood at the earlier place.
By seeing this incident the farmer was wondered and informed to all the people in the village. They could not believe his words, so the farmer brought them to the field and waited in the night to see the farmer's experience. Again exactly in the midnight same incident was occurred. Then all the people in the village believed the incident and constructed a temple in the same place. People believe that with the blessings of the Goddess, they are getting the good harvest. So people pray the Goddess before sowing the seeds every year. Goddess Ammavaru has a raised from the earth in the JammichedVillage , the Goddess was worshiping as Jammulamma Goddess. It is also believed that the Pandavas have given first preference to this Goddess in worshipping. The Gadwala rulers also worshipped the Goddess Ammavaru.
